Kidepo Valley by Air - 4 days

Kidepo valley national park is one of the most beautiful savanah National parks in North Eastern Uganda. It’s characterized by Savanah, riverine Borusus forest on the seasonal Kidepo valley, flood plains, Bushes and Scrubland and the short Parkland savanah. There are forests on the mountain ranges of Morungole and Lonyili.

The park is drained by the seasonal Narus River in the west and the Kidepo River in the Nort-East into the the Nile system in the Sudan. The landscape varies from flat plains in Narus valley to the high Morungole ranges in the East. Giving a variety of habitants and associated wild life species. Wildlife include lions, leopards, elephant, child giraffes, buffaloes, hairlebeests, oribis, reedbucks, the bat eared forex, the lesser and greater Kudus and Cheetahs. elephants

There is a lot of bird life including, the lilac 7 abssynia rollers blacksmith plovers, spawinged plovers, the ground hornbills, the Koribustard, the Secretary bird, the mountain buzzards, Herons, Eggrets, and the lovely Ostrich. To the extreme northern part of the park lies the Kananarok hot spring. It’s a Park worth Visiting.

On this safari you will visit Uganda’s most isolated and magnificent national park.  Kidepo ranks among Africa’s finest wildernesses.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Fly to Kidepo Valley National park.

We will pick you up from your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala to Entebbe International Airport to catch up with a scheduled flight to Kidepo valley National Park.  Flight time at 1230 arriving at 1445.

The Park is a completely different world of vast plains, in spring view from every vantage point, with a lot of wildlife as you drive into the park. Kidepo offers breathtaking open savannah which is surrounded by spectacular mountain landscape nowhere to be seen in Africa! Kidepo Valley National Park is Uganda’s second biggest National Park one of Africa’s finest  wilderness areas.

This evening you will take a sunset game drive  in the Narus valley  in search for the lions, Jackson hartebeests, buffaloes, giraffes, leopard and cheetah . Dinner and overnight at Apoka Safari Lodge at Apoka safari lodge

Day 2: Game drive - hot springs

antelopeEarly breakfast the drive off for the game drive to the ostrich farm along the way you will be able to view, herds of elephants, cape buffalos, giraffes, lions and then the hot springs at kanangorok, lunch at Apoka safari lodge .

In the afternoon have a cultural experience that will bring you into contact with Karamojong peoples at Karenga and Kapedo. Meet the local elders and have an opportunity to interact with them. They will show you the kraals, the grinding stones and many more interesting items. Dinner and overnight at Apoka Safari Lodge

Day 3: Kidepo Valley National Park- Guided nature walk

After an early breakfast, you will be joined by an expert ranger guide for a nature walk to explore the park on foot away from the steel clad of safari car sharing his knowledge of the eco-system and also bring you closure to the animals and for birders, look out for Fox Kestrel, Eastern Chanting Goshawk, Grasshopper Buzzard, Montague’s Harrier, Fan Tailed Raven and the very rare Stone Partridge.

The afternoon will be spent relaxing and sightseeing around the lodge. Overnight stay at Apoka safari lodge

Day 4: Kidepo-Entebbe.

Morning game drive before your departure for Entebbe.  Later transfer to the airstrip to catch up the return flight back to Entebbe.
